Victim of shooting near 26th and Quindaro identified

The victim of a shooting at 12:59 p.m. Sept. 1 near 26th and Quindaro has been identified, according to a spokesman for the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department.

The victim was Anisha Rucker, 27, of Kansas City, Kansas, according to police. She is the 35th recorded homicide this year in Kansas City, Kansas.

Police were called to the 2600 block of Quindaro and found a female victim in her late 20s with an apparent gunshot wound, the spokesman stated. She was taken to a hospital where she later died.

The shooting death is under investigation by the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department’s Major Case Unit. Anyone with information may call the TIPS hotline at 816-474-TIPS, according to the spokesman.
