The victim of a shooting on I-70 at I-670 in Kansas City, Kan., on Friday evening has died, according to Kansas City, Kan., police.
The victim was identified as Deonta C. Jones, 22, of Kansas City, Kan., police said.
Police are now treating this case as a homicide, according to a spokesman.
Police responded to a call about the shooting about 5:06 p.m. Friday, March 11, the spokesman said. When they arrived, they found two males in a black Camaro suffering from apparent gunshot wounds, according to the spokesman. They were taken to a hospital. One has since died.
The Kansas City, Kan., Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division is looking for a 2010-2014 maroon GMC Envoy, with dark window tint and a “yellowed” plastic license cover, possibly occupied by two males.
The incident is under investigation by the Kansas City, Kan., Police Department’s Major Case Unit, which is encouraging anyone with information to call the TIP hotline at 816-474-TIPS.
