The victim of a Sunday morning homicide at Matney Park has been identified, according to a spokesman for the Wyandotte County Sheriff’s Office.
The victim was Skylar Needham, age 30, a resident of Kansas City, Kansas, according to the spokesman.
The Sheriff’s Office was alerted to a shooting at Matney Park off 39th and Shawnee Drive through a 911 call at about 5:23 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 15, according to the spokesman.
When they arrived, officers found a deceased male in a car within the park, the spokesman stated. The victim had several gunshot wounds.
The Wyandotte County Sheriff’s Office Investigations Unit is investigating the case. Anyone with information is urged to call the TIPS hotline at 816-474-TIPS, according to the spokesman.
