Kansas City, Kansas, police have identified the victim of a fatal accident on Aug. 10 near 27th and Hickam.
The victim was Ikisha T. Adams, 36, a Kansas City, Kansas, woman.
According to a police spokesman, officers saw a single four-door vehicle stopped on 27th Street at Parallel Parkway in the middle of the driving lane at 3:19 a.m. Aug. 10.
Officers approached the vehicle, the driver looked at both officers, then sped away at a high rate of speed, the spokesman said. The vehicle went north, accelerating, until it hit a tree at 27th and Hickam.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
