An event honoring veterans and active duty military service members from Johnson, Leavenworth and Wyandotte counties will be held at 11:45 a.m. Monday, Nov. 11, at Providence Medical Center, 8929 Parallel Parkway, Kansas City, Kansas.
The program will take place outside of the chapel in the main lobby of the hospital.
The event is sponsored by Providence Medical Center and VITAS Healthcare.
It will include a Liturgy of the Word, centered on the meaning of Veterans Day, by Chaplain Darwin Dupree.
A pinning ceremony will recognize all veterans and active military who are present.
There will be a reception after the event.
All who have served, their families and friends, visitors, employees and the public may attend the event.
