The annual Veterans Day Commemoration will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Nov. 5, at the Salvation Army Harbor Light Village, 6723 State Ave., Kansas City, Kan.
It is free and open to the public. The event is sponsored by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6401 of Wyandotte County.
Jerry Jarrett, Bonner Springs, a Vietnam War veteran, will be the guest speaker, Jarrett is a Silver Star recipient.
The Washington High School Air Force Junior ROTC, the Piper High School Music in Motion and the Salvation Army Music Ensemble will perform.
A brunch and commemorative displays are part of the program.
This year, on the 25th anniversary of Desert Storm, there will be a special recognition of Desert Storm veterans.
It is also the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War, and the 75th anniversary of Pearl Harbor, and there will be a special recognition of World War II and Vietnam War veterans.
