A 2006 Chevrolet Aveo hit the center median on I-70 and went down a steep embankment onto I-635 at 5:10 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24.
The incident began on I-70 between the Indian Springs and the Park Drive exits, according to a Kansas Turnpike Authority trooper’s report.
The Aveo was eastbound on I-70 when it attempted to cross all lanes and exit onto I-635 northbound, the trooper’s report stated.
A Ford F-150 then struck the Aveo, the report stated. The Aveo went into the center median and down a steep embankment onto I-635, according to the report.
The driver of the Aveo, a 28-year-old man from Wichita, Kan., was injured and taken to a hospital, the report stated. He was not wearing a seat belt, the report said.
The driver of the F-150, a 39-year-old man from Blue Springs, Mo., was not injured, the report stated.
