A police pursuit from Kansas into Missouri and back again to Kansas ended in a rollover accident this afternoon on South 18th Street and I-70, according to a Kansas City, Kansas, police spokesman.
The chase started after an officer discovered that a vehicle had a stolen tag, the spokesman stated.
The driver appeared to be an individual with a warrant in connection with another crime, but officers found later that the suspect was not who the officer initially believed him to be, according to the spokesman.
The chase went from KCK into Missouri, but the chase was called off by police when traffic became heavy, the spokesman stated.
Missouri police officers relocated the vehicle and started chasing it, according to the spokesman, then the suspect drove back into Kansas, and Kansas officers joined again.
The suspect was involved in a two-vehicle accident after his vehicle’s front passenger tire was gone and he lost control, according to police.
The suspect was taken into custody without further incident, the spokesman stated. No one was injured in the accident.
