A 42-year-old Kansas City, Kan., man was fleeing from a law enforcement officer on westbound I-70 and crashed on an exit ramp to eastbound State Avenue near I-435 about 5:57 p.m. Wednesday, March 11. His vehicle overturned three times and he was ejected, according to a Kansas Turnpike Authority trooper’s report.
The man was thrown out of the passenger side window of the GMC Sierra, coming to rest in a lane of traffic, the trooper’s report stated. The driver was injured and taken to the hospital.
The driver’s GMC Sierra entered the ramp to eastbound State Avenue, and it was on the ramp that the driver lost control and drove off the roadway on the left side of the road, according to the report.
The driver then overcorrected, crossing the roadway and slid sideways on the outside shoulder before overturning, the trooper’s report stated.
