Vaccination opens to residents 16 and over

A line of people entered a Unified Government vaccination site at the former Kmart store at 7836 State Ave., Kansas City, Kansas, Monday morning. Today, vaccinations opened to all Wyandotte County residents 16 and older, and walk-ins are accepted. Appointments also may be made. The vaccination sites are open from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at the former Kmart store at 7836 State Ave., the former Best Buy store at 10500 Parallel Parkway and the Kansas National Guard Armory at 100 S. 20th (near 18th and Ridge).   1. Going the non-appointment route the wait outside wasn’t bad and the process went faster when allowed through the doors – got there a little before 9:00 and was back home before 10:30 and that included a stop over at subway.
    Pretty good showing of racial diversity – all were there. i feel fine and thinking along the reasoning of “it’s better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it” i chose to stand in line this morning
    Moderna two shot process is what is available today so it will mean going back in a month to get the second shot booster.
