Two Unified Government standing committees plan meetings tonight.
The Neighborhood and Community Development Committee will meet at 5 p.m. Oct. 10 on the fifth floor conference room of City Hall, 701 N. 7th St., Kansas City, Kan.
On the agenda for the NCD meeting will be a review of department goals, along with Land Bank applications and transfers.
Land Bank applications include 3519 N. 80th St, Oscar Whitmore, new home construction; 3832 Lloyd St., Wolfe’s Construction, new home construction; 3836 Lloyd St., Wolfe Construction, new home construction; 15 S. 8th St., Jose Orozco, parking lot for Frontera’s Super Market; 2269 Lathrop Ave., Jerome Peterson, parking for Guiding Star Baptist Church; 5121 Walker Ave., Darrel Coppersmith, yard extension; 1737 Waverly Ave., Robert Cole, yard extension; 614 Lowell Ave., Rigoberto Morta Lopez, yard extension; 849 Quindaro Blvd., Lydia Mejia, yard extension; 847 Quindaro Blvd., Lydia Mejia, yard extension; and 2706 Hagemann St., Ryan Patton, yard extension.
Also on the Land Bank agenda is a mortgage foreclosure transfer for 5217 Alma St., Argentine Betterment Corp., from property in the Highland Crest area. The property had a mortgage through the Community Development Department, according to UG agenda information. The UG foreclosed bid on the property to take possession on it, the UG Legal Department filed an order to extinguish the redemption period and it was granted by the district court, according to agenda information. A sheriff’s deed was filed to give the ownership to the UG, the documents stated. Next, a clerk’s deed will be filed to put the property in the Land Bank, according to the agenda. The property then will be held for ABCV and its planned development, according to the agenda.
The UG’s Economic Development and Finance Committee meeting will follow.
On the agenda are a review of department goals; along with a resolution to set a public hearing for University-Rosedale Urban Renewal Plan amendments; a public hearing and resolution for KCK Boyer Medical Office Building project, $11 million in industrial revenue bonds, 1601 N. 98th St.; a resolution to accept the second amendment to the Legends Auto Plaza Development Agreement, Honda, between the UG and KCK Development II Inc. Two other developments have been proposed. Three lots would be removed from the earlier development agreement.
