UG Commission to meet Thursday, May 14

At the 5 p.m. Thursday, May 14, Unified Government Commission meeting, the commission will hear a COVID-19 update, an economic development incentives update and a priority-based budgeting report.

The economic development incentives report is online with the agenda at www.wycokck.org/Clerk/Agendas.aspx.

At the 7 p.m. May 14 UG Commission meeting, the commission will consider several topics, including budget revisions due to COVID-19.

Also on the 7 p.m. agenda is an ordinance removing project area B from the Mission Cliffs II Redevelopment District and terminating the tax increment financing for project area B. According to the agenda, the removal of the area from the TIF will allow for future development for the site.

Also on the 7 p.m. agenda is the nomination of Natalie Barge to the Wyandotte-Leavenworth Advisory Council on Aging, nominated by Commissioner Gayle Townsend.

The 7 p.m. agenda also includes a Land Bank application for 509 N. 5th St., for single-family construction. The applicant is Gunnar Hand, UG director of planning.

According to the UG clerk’s website, to participate in a remote meeting, the public may email a comment to be added to the record to [email protected], with the meeting date and agenda item. Also, people may comment on an agenda item for three minutes; for information call 913-573-5206 or email [email protected]. The deadline to submit comments or ask to be put on the list for comments is 5 p.m. on the Wednesday before the meeting.

The May 14 meetings will be remote Zoom meetings, according to the agenda.
