The Unified Government Commission plans to meet at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, in a remote meeting on Zoom.
The agenda for the 7 p.m. meeting includes a public hearing on the URBN Development project, a $403 million distribution fulfillment center and office project for Urban Outfitters, to be built next to the Kansas Speedway at 118th and State Avenue.
The commission will consider a resolution of intent, bond ordniance authorizing issuing bonds including a development agreement and bond purchase agreement, and an ordinance releasing land from the tax-increment financing – STAR (sales tax revenue) bond district for the URBN project.
Also on the agenda is a proposal to renew the Metro 24 Fitness Management agreement for the Joe E . Amayo Community Center in the Argentine area.
The commission also will consider an agreement between the UG and Bonner Springs for the Bonner Springs Neighborhood Revitalization Plan No. 6.
The commission is expected to set a public hearing date for the Yards II Apartments redevelopment plan; the Epic Center, Menards, redevelopment TIF district, and the Neighborhood Revitalization Act Plan and agreements.
The commission also is expected to set the 2021 holiday schedule.
