The Unified Government Commission has scheduled a budget retreat at 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 7, in the fifth floor conference room at City Hall, 701 N. 7th St., Kansas City, Kansas.
Commissioner Jim Walters, at a UG committee meeting Monday night, said he wanted to bring up the topic of reducing taxes.
The UG received a quarterly financial report on Monday evening that showed revenues were coming in better than expected recently, with Walters commenting that he wanted to reduce taxes.
Wyandotte County residents are receiving their valuation notices in the mail this week, with some residents reporting increases in their home’s appraised value.
The UG’s budget traditionally is not completed until August or late July.
