Public hearings on an apartment complex and parking garage at The Legends and trash cans for the downtown area are part of tonight’s Unified Government Commission agenda for the 7 p.m. meeting Jan. 28 at the lobby level, City Hall, 701 N. 7th St., Kansas City, Kan.
The Unified Government Commission is scheduled to meet at 7 p.m. Jan. 28 at the Commission Chambers, lobby level, City Hall, 701 N. 7th St., Kansas City, Kan.
Planning and zoning items and other items are on the agenda.
Before the 7 p.m. meeting, there will be a special session of the UG at 5 p.m. in the ninth floor conference room at City Hall. It will be a closed session on labor and land acquisition.
After the closed session will be an open special session in the fifth floor conference room, Suite 515, about the jail study, Healthy Campus update and the Water Pollution Control rate structure.
Among the items on the 7 p.m. agenda:
– A replat of Parcel 3, Center City, at 5th and Minnesota, owned by the Unified Government.
– Application for renewal of a permit for live music at the Rhythm and Blues Lounge, 4220 Leavenworth Road.
– Application for a special use permit for Gary White, 6608 Woodend, to keep 14 chicken on the property.
– Application for Jennifer Fine, 4001 N. 74th St., for a special use permit for a dog day care and boarding facility.
– Application from Ronald J. Beal Jr., 1106, 1108 and 1110 Ella Ave., for a special use permit to park tow trucks at the backyards of those addresses.
– Application from Bill Super, SM Auto Inc., Kansas City, Mo., to for a special use permit to operate a used car dealership at 610 S. 78th St. (South 78th and Kansas Avenue).
– David Ficklin, Sporting Kansas City, application for a special use permit for 12 soccer fields, related parking and maintenance facility at 1500 N. 90th St., Master Plan amendment from low density residential to entertainment.
– Preliminary plan review for a new drive-through car wash and restaurant at Legends Auto Plaza, 1720 N. 110th Terrace, Tony Penny, applicant, representing Premier Automotive of Kansas City, 9801 Troup Ave.
– Application for special use permit, Wine Barn LLC, 2850 N. 119th St., renewal of special use permit for live entertainment, Ryan Denk, attorney, for the applicant. A valid protest petition has been filed.
– Update report on the K-32 corridor plan, Rosedale Master plan and rewrite of the sign code.
– A request to approve a budget revision for $750,000 that authorizes a supplemental payment to the UG Employee Health Fund from the County General Fund, reducing the outstanding balance of deferred employer payments from $1.9 million to $1.2 million.
– A request for authorization for the UG staff to apply for the 2016 Choice Neighborhoods Grant through HUD. The grant provides up to $2 million for planning and construction over a three-year period.
– An ordinance amendment which would lift the residency rule for judges pro tem.
– Proposed revisions to the County Emergency Operations Plan concerning public health and medical services.
– A public hearing on industrial revenue bonds and the PILOT (paymenet in lieu of taxes) for the Legends apartments, 1879 Village West Parkway. There is an apartment project with a three-story parking garage and 240 apartment units.
– Public hearing to consider new banners and trash receptacles for the Downtown Self-Supported Municipal Improvement District.
– An agreement with Plumbers Local Union No. 8 is on the agenda.
– Several Land Bank items will be discussed.
