The U.S. 69 Missouri River Bridge is scheduled to be closed between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 14, for bridge demolition work, according to the Missouri Department of Transportation.
The far south end of the old Platte Purchase Bridge will be detonated, according to a MoDOT news release.
Southbound U.S. 69 will be closed at I-635. Northbound U.S. 69 will be closed at Kindleberger Road in the Fairfax area of Kansas City, Kan.
Motorists should find an alternate route, a spokesman said. All work depends on the weather. A new bridge has been constructed to replace the old Platte Purchase Bridge.
