Work originally scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 16, has been changed. Crews will close the northbound and southbound lanes of U.S. 69 Bridge over the Missouri River from 6 p.m. Monday, Feb. 22 to 2 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 23 for concrete pour work, according to the Missouri Department of Transportation.
Motorists will need to find an alternate route to access Platte and Wyandotte counties. This closure could impact industrial workers on both sides of the state line. All work is weather dependent.
This is all part of replacing the current U.S. 69 Bridge over the Missouri River. A new structure will be constructed in its place and will include multiple lanes and bike/pedestrian access. It will be open to traffic in December 2016.
The Missouri Department of Transportation urges all motorists to be alert, obey warning signs and use caution when driving through work zones.
