Two shootings reported in northeast KCK

Two shootings in the northeast area of Kansas City, Kan., were reported today.

In the early afternoon, about 1:31 p.m., police officers responded to a shooting in the 1300 block of North 4th Street, according to a police spokesman.

When police arrived at North 4th, they found a man in his 20s, outside, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the head, the spokesman said. The victim was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

Then, around 6:06 p.m., officers were on the scene of another incident, a shooting in the 2100 block of Quindaro Boulevard, according to a police spokesman.

When officers arrived at 21st and Quindaro, they found a man in his early 20s on the sidewalk, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the back of his head, the spokesman said.

The victim was taken to a hospital in critical condition, the spokesman said.
