A fatal shooting was reported about 7:25 p.m. Jan. 5 in the 1100 block of Kimball Avenue, according to police.
There is a possible suspect in custody, according to police.
A spokesman for the Kansas City, Kan., Police Department said officers responded to the scene and found a man in his late 30s dead inside the residence from apparent gunshot wounds.
About 10 minutes after officers arrived on the scene, a person of interest turned himself in at police headquarters, the spokesman said.
The identity of the victim is being withheld pending positive identification and family notification, the spokesman said.
A second shooting, a non-life-threatening shooting, was reported Jan. 5 in the 1700 block of Minnesota, according to police.
The fatal shooting on Kimball is under investigation by the Kansas City, Kan., Police Department’s Major Case Unit, which is encouraging anyone with information to call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS (8477).
