Two patients have been treated for fireworks-related injuries as of 2 p.m. Saturday, July 2, according to a news release from the University of Kansas Health System.
The two patients, treated by the Burnett Burn Center at KU Health System in Kansas City, Kansas, were adults who were injured by mortars. The injury was to the face.
One of the victims was a male and the other was a female, according to the news release, and their ages were between 24 and 41.
The Burnett Burn Center is a nationally accredited burn center for treatment of burns to adults and children.
