The Kansas Highway Patrol has released more information about a crash at 2:48 p.m. Sept. 2 on K-32 westbound at I-435 in Edwardsville, Kan.
Three vehicles, including two large trucks and a sport utility vehicle, were involved in the crash, the trooper’s report stated.
A Toyota Rav4 and a Kenworth semi pulling a trailer were stopped at a stoplight on westbound K-32 when a Kenworth box truck rear-ended the Toyota and pushed it into the semi, according to the trooper’s report.
Two persons in a Toyota Rav4 were injured and taken to a hospital, according to the trooper’s report.
The crash involved an extrication of persons from a vehicle, according to the Kansas City, Kan., Fire Department.
The driver of the Toyota, a 27-year-old woman from Kansas City, Kan., was injured and taken to a hospital, the trooper’s report stated. A passenger in the Toyota, a 26-year-old Kansas City, Kan., man, also was injured and taken to the hospital, according to the report.
The driver of the Kenworth box truck, a 56-year-old man from Overland Park, Kan., was taken to the hospital with a possible injury, the trooper’s report stated.
The driver of the Kenworth semi pulling a trailer, a 35-year-old man from Wichita, Kan., was not injured, according to the trooper’s report. A 43-year-old woman from Concord, N.C., riding in the semi also was not injured, the report stated.
