Police found two adults dead around 11:15 a.m. Thursday, as officers were making a welfare check at the Cambridge at River Oaks Apartments, 70th and Riverview, according to a police spokesman.
Officers were dispatched to check on the apartment this morning and discovered two deceased adults in their early 20s to early 30s inside an apartment, the spokesman stated.
It was not apparent how long they had been deceased, according to the spokesman. Concerned family members who requested the welfare check spoke with one of the individuals on Sunday.
While detectives could not immediately determine the cause of death, they do not believe the excessive heat played a role, the spokesman stated.
The Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department’s Major Case Unit is investigating. Anyone with information on the case is asked to call the TIPS hotline at 816-474-TIPS.
