Two persons are dead after an accident at 12:53 a.m. Sunday, July 9, in the 6300 block of Rowland Avenue, according to a Kansas City, Kansas, police spokesman.
A green Toyota truck collided with a tree at that location, a police spokesman stated.
According to an initial police investigation, a Toyota truck was stolen and occupied multiple times. The truck was traveling southbound on North 63rd when it collided with a tree, the police spokesman stated.
Two of the occupants of the truck were dead when officers arrived at the scene, the spokesman stated.
An occupant of the stolen vehicle then stole the vehicle of a good Samaritan who attempted to assist the occupants of the wrecked vehicle, police said. Two other occupants of the pickup truck had critical injuries and were taken to a hospital, police stated.
The accident is under investigation by the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department’s Traffic Support Unit-Critical Collision Response Team.
