Neosho County scored twice in the final six minutes Tuesday to rally to a 3-1 Jayhawk Conference soccer win over Kansas City Kansas Community College in Chanute, Kansas.
The loss dropped the Blue Devil men to 3-3 heading into a big home showdown with Jayhawk Conference leader Cowley College Friday evening. The kickoff will follow a women’s clash starting at 4:30 p.m.
KCKCC led 1-0 at halftime at Neosho County thanks to a goal by Reed Axthelm on an assist from Kenar Huntington at the 27:00 mark.
But Neosho tied it nine minutes into the second half on a goal by Paolo Richa assisted by Jakovljevic and then broke the tie with six minutes remaining on a goal by Renan Santos assisted by Alfie Belcher.
The Panthers added their final goal with two minutes left on an unassisted kick by Alexandre Novas. Neosho goalkeeper Hugo Blanckaert had seven saves as the Blue Devils got off 12 shots.
Fabian Keiblinger turned away three shots in goal for KCKCC.
