Wednesday afternoon’s crash on westbound I-70 at I-435 in Kansas City, Kan., injured two people, according to a Kansas Turnpike Authority trooper’s report.
The three-vehicle crash happened about 3:24 p.m. June 3 when a 17-year-old Kansas City, Kan., resident backed a Ford Explorer up on the interstate and shoulder, according to the trooper’s report.
Then, a Chevy Cobalt driven by a 68-year-old Tonganoxie, Kan., man hit the back of the Explorer, the trooper’s report stated. After that, the Explorer hit a semi driven by a 34-year-old Lorimor, Iowa, man, the report stated.
The drivers of the Explorer and the Cobalt were injured and taken to the hospital, according to the report. The semi driver was not injured.
It was raining on Wednesday afternoon.
