Kansas City, Kansas, firefighters responded to a house fire on Friday night at 1500 N. 9th St.
According to fire officials, crews responding to the fire reported heavy smoke and fire, and entered the building to attack the fire. The fire was knocked down, a search found the building was clear, and the fire was extinguished.
Firefighters received another, unrelated call about smoke in an apartment in the 5700 block of Leavenworth Road last night. The fire was found to be from food on the stove.
