Two children were injured in an accident on I-435, just south of the junction with K-32, according to a Kansas Highway Patrol trooper’s report.
The accident happened at 8:34 a.m. March 2 on southbound I-435 as traffic was slowing because of another accident, according to the trooper’s report.
A GMC Sierra truck struck the rear of a Toyota Avalon car, according to the report.
Two Kansas City, Kan., children who were in the Toyota were injured, according to the report.
They included a 6-year-old girl who had a possible injury and a 12-year-old girl who was injured, the report stated. They were taken to a hospital.
A 53-year-old Kansas City, Kan., man driving the Toyota and a 34-year-old woman passenger in the Toyota were not injured, the report stated.
The 52-year-old Leavenworth, Kan., man driving the Sierra truck was not injured, according to the report.
