A police standoff at 7:11 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 14, ended with the arrest of two persons in the 1900 block of Parallel in Kansas City, Kan.
Kansas City, Kan., police were assisting in a case from Pleasant Valley, Mo., from last night, when a police officer there was shot in the face during a traffic stop on I-35 on the Missouri side.
This morning, officers set up a perimeter around a residence where a person of interest in the case had barricaded himself, a Kansas City, Kan., police spokesman said.
After a short standoff, two persons of interest came out of the residence and were taken into custody without incident, police said.

In a news release, the Missouri Highway Patrol stated that a Pleasant Valley police officer initiated a traffic stop on a passenger vehicle on southbound I-35, just north of I-435, at 11:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13.
When the suspect vehicle pulled to the shoulder, the driver immediately exited his vehicle and began shooting toward the Pleasant Valley officer, the Missouri Highway Patrol news release stated. The officer was struck in the face from one of the rounds.
The suspect then fled in his vehicle, described as a green Honda Accord with Tennessee plates. The Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control was investigating the shooting of the officer, at the request of the Pleasant Valley Police Department.
