Two accidents on K-7 resulted in injuries

Two accidents on K-7 on Tuesday resulted in injuries, according to Kansas Highway Patrol reports.

A trooper was injured in an accident at 3:07 p.m. Jan. 24 at K-7 near Speaker Road.

A 2002 Dodge Neon was northbound on K-7 and a 2015 Ford Explorer was westbound on I-70 on the ramp to K-7, when the two vehicles collided at an angle, according to the trooper’s report.

The driver of the Neon, a 17-year-old female from Tonganoxie, Kan., was injured and taken to the hospital, according to the report.

An 18-year-old woman from Bonner Springs who was in the Neon also was injured and taken to the hospital, the report stated. Another passenger in the Neon who was injured was a 4-year-old girl, according to the report.

The driver of the Ford Explorer, a 41-year-old man from Louisburg, Kan., sustained minor injuries and was taken to the hospital, according to KDOT and the report.

Another accident on K-7 at Parallel Parkway happened at 2:20 p.m. Jan. 24, according to a trooper’s report.

A 2004 Mercedes Benz was southbound on K-7 and made a left turn in front of a 2015 Ford F-250, the trooper’s report stated. The Mercedes Benz ran a red light at the intersection and was struck by the Ford truck, according to the trooper’s report.

The driver of the Mercedes Benz, a 64-year-old woman from Kansas City, Kan., was injured and taken to a hospital, the report stated.

The driver of the Ford truck, a 51-year-old man from Bonner Springs, was injured and taken to the hospital, the report stated.
