Tuesday’s forecast: Mild and high near 88

A seasonably mild day is expected today, with mostly dry conditions, and the better rain chances remaining will be south of the I-70 corridor, according to the National Weather Service forecast.

The next chance for rain will be Wednesday, with on-and-off chances continuing through Friday, the weather service said.

Another couple of inches of rain is possible Wednesday through Friday, with the higher amounts currently expected along and south of the Missouri River, according to the weather service.

The midweek heavier rains could lead to some flooding concerns, the weather service said. Severe storms are not expected at this time.

Today, it will be mostly sunny, with a high near 88 and a south southeast wind of 6 to 8 mph, the weather service said.

Tonight there is a 20 percent chance of showers after 4 a.m., with a low of 71, according to the weather service, and a south southeast wind of 3 to 7 mph.

Wednesday, there is an 80 percent chance of showers, then possibly a thunderstorm after 1 a.m., the weather service said. The high will be near 82 with a light and variable wind becoming southeast 5 to 7 mph in the morning. Between a half and three-quarters of an inch of rain is possible.

Wednesday night, there is a 50 percent chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 1 a.m., according to the weather service. The low will be around 70 with an east southeast wind of 5 to 8 mph becoming calm in the evening. Between a half and three-quarters of an inch of rain is possible.

Thursday, there is a 60 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers are likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 1 p.m., the weather service said. The high will be near 83 with a calm wind becoming north northeast around 5 mph in the afternoon. Between a quarter and half-inch of rain is possible.

Thursday night, there is a 30 percent chance of storms and thunderstorms, with a low of 67, according to the weather service. New rainfall amounts will be between a half and three-quarters of an inch.

Friday, there is a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, with a high near 80, the weather service said.

Friday night, it will be mostly cloudy with a low of 63, according to the weather service.

Saturday, it will be mostly sunny, with a high near 81, the weather service said.
