I-29 closed north of Platte City, Mo.
Motorists should avoid I-29 in the Dearborn, Mo., area, north of Platte City, Mo., as I-29 has been closed because of a law enforcement standoff with a trucker who allegedly pointed a gun at motorists.
Traffic is at a standstill on I-29. I-29 is closed at mile marker 22 on I-29, according to information from the Missouri Department of Transportation. Both northbound I-29 and southbound I-29 are affected.
U.S. 24 closed near Topeka
On the Kansas side, eastbound U.S. 24 has been closed from Menoken Road to U.S. 75, and there are multiple ramp closures at U.S. 24 to U.S. 75, because of a fatality involving a semi crash, according to a Kansas Department of Transportation spokesman.
It may be noon or after before U.S. 24 is reopened, according to the spokesman.
