The August Kansas revenue figures are in, and they showed $10.2 million less in August than estimated, according to the Kansas Department of Revenue.
The figures also showed total tax collections grew $9.7 million in August 2016 compared to August 2015, according to a KDOR spokesman.
Total tax collections for the month just passed were $427.3 million, according to state figures.
A spokesman stated retail sales and corporate income tax receipt shortfalls pulled revenue collections for August below expectations.
Also, corporate income was $9.7 million less than estimates, according to the KDOR figures.
Retail sales tax receipts for August also were $14.1 million less than anticipated, according to a spokesman.
Individual income tax receipts were higher than estimates by $14.8 million for the month, the KDOR reported.
The state collected $179.8 million in individual income taxes for the month, $9.3 million more than it collected in August 2015.
