The Leavenworth Road Association has canceled tonight’s meeting at Eisenhower Community Center because of the weather.
Although there is considerable melting of ice today, the LRA made the decision after checking the parking lots and sidewalks at Eisenhower on Monday and finding a lot of puddles from rain and ice, according to Lou Braswell, executive director.
Tonight, the temperature is predicted to be about 30 degrees at 8 p.m., which might have meant slick conditions with the possibility of refreezing ice in spots. The LRA meetings often run from 6 p.m. until 8:30 p.m.
The LRA plans to resume meetings in March.
