Toilet in the road contributes to crash on K-7

A three-vehicle crash on K-7 between Leavenworth Road and Donahoo Road started with a toilet in the road, according to a Kansas Highway Patrol trooper’s report.

Three vehicles were southbound on K-7, also known as U.S. 73, about 9:45 a.m. Wednesday, July 27, when one stopped because of a toilet in the lane of travel, according to the trooper’s report.

A Toyota passenger car stopped on K-7 because of the toilet in the road, and then was hit from behind, the trooper’s report stated.

A Buick passenger car ran into the back of a Honda passenger car, and the Honda rear-ended the Toyota that was stopped on U.S. 73, according to the trooper’s report.

The driver of the Honda, a 34-year-old Tonganoxie, Kan., woman, was injured and taken to a hospital, the trooper’s report stated. A 15-year-old girl in the Honda was not injured, the report stated.

A 67-year-old Overland Park woman driving the Toyota was not injured, the report stated.

The driver of the Buick, a 22-year-old woman from Olathe, was not injured, according to the report.
