Today’s weather: Mostly sunny, high near 79

Tuesday’s weather will be mostly sunny with a high near 79, and with winds gusting as high as 24 mph, according to the National Weather Service.

Storm chance will return on Wednesday night, when hail and damaging winds are possible, with rain, the weather service said. Wyandotte County is in the “slight risk” category for this storm.

Flooding concerns will continue on the Missouri River this week, according to the weather service. Rivers near Wyandotte County are below flood stage. The Missouri River at Parkville is not in flood stage and is projected to go into action stage later this week. Today, the high will be 79 with mostly sunny skies and a south wind of 8 to 15 mph, gusting to 24 mph, the weather service said.

Tonight, there is a 20 percent chance of showers between 3 a.m. and 4 a.m., then a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 4 a.m., according to the weather service. The low will be around 63 with a south wind of 11 to 14 mph, gusting to 23 mph.

Wednesday, there is a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 4 a.m., the weather service said. The high will be near 77 with a south wind of 13 to 17 mph, gusting to 30 mph. Less than a tenth of an inch of rain is possible, except higher amounts are possible in thunderstorms.

Wednesday night, there is an 80 percent chance of precipitation before 1 a.m., then showers are likely and possibly a thunderstorm between 1 a.m. and 4 a.m., then showers likely after 4 a.m., according to the weather service. The low will be around 47 with southwest winds of 8 to 14 mph becoming north northwest after midnight. Winds may gust as high as 24 mph. Between a half and three-quarters of an inch of rain is possible.

Thursday, there is a 40 percent chance of showers, mainly before 1 p.m., the weather service said. The high will be near 48 with a north northwest wind of 14 to 17 mph, gusting as high as 28 mph. Less than a tenth of an inch of rain is possible.

Thursday night, it will be mostly cloudy, with a low of 43, according to the weather service.

Friday, it will be sunny with a high near 65, the weather service said.

Friday night, it will be mostly clear with a low of 44, according to the weather service.

Saturday, it will be sunny with a high near 73, the weather service said.

Saturday night, it will be mostly clear, with a low of 58, according to the weather service.

Sunday, it will be partly sunny with a high near 75, the weather service said.

Sunday night, there is a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. The low will be around 56.

Monday, it will be mostly cloudy with a high of 69, the weather service said.
