Thursday, expect rain to return to the forecast, as there is a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, according to the weather service. The high will be near 83. The chance of rain will increase to 60 percent Thursday night.
The scattered thunderstorms will spread from north to south beginning late Thursday afternoon, exiting early Friday morning, the weather service said.
A few stronger storms could reach severe thresholds over parts of Missouri and Kansas, according to the weather service. Large hail will be the primary severe threat, with damaging winds a secondary concern.
Friday’s forecast will be partly sunny, with a high near 73, according to the weather service.
