Today could be one of the driest days of the next few days, including the Memorial Day holiday.
Dry weather today is expected to continue through much of Friday, and then showers and storms are expected to redevelop Friday night, according to the National Weather Service.

Locally heavy rains will be possible as moisture transported from the Gulf of Mexico becomes unimpeded, the weather service stated.
Additional flooding problems will be possible in the region through the weekend and early next week, the weather service stated.
A glance at the weather service’s hydrology charts today showed that the Missouri River and Kansas River in Wyandotte County are still well below the action stage and well below the flood stage. Turkey Creek at Southwest Boulevard is well below flood stage.
Some towns along the Missouri River, such as Sibley and Napoleon in Missouri, are showing near flooding or flooding, according to the hydrology charts.
The Platte River near Platte City, Mo., also is showing minor flooding, with the river in flood stage, the hydrology charts showed.
Today, skies will be sunny with a high near 65, according to the weather service. Tonight’s low will be around 49.
Friday, there is a 20 percent chance of showers, with a high near 66, according to the weather service. Friday night, the chance of rain is 40 percent, with a low of 54.
Saturday, expect mostly cloudy skies, a high near 70, and a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, the weather service said. Saturday night, there will be a low of 62, with a 70 percent chance of rain, according to the weather service.
On Sunday, there is an 80 percent chance of occasional showers and thunderstorms, with a high near 73, according to the weather service.
On Monday, Memorial Day, there is a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, the weather service said.
Rain is also in the forecast through Wednesday, according to the weather service.
