Today at noon is the filing deadline for the 2014 election.
Those who are running for precinct committee positions may file in the Wyandotte County Election Commission Office, while those who are filing for state and national offices will file in Topeka at the secretary of state’s office. There is a filing fee for the state and national offices.
The primary election is Aug. 5, and the general election is Nov. 4.
A special election for the Piper School District local option budget question will be held on Tuesday, June 3. Residents of the school district may vote either by mail or at polling places from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. June 3.
The ballot question is: “Shall the Board of Education of Unified School District No. 203, Wyandotte County, State of Kansas, be authorized to increase its local option budget by an additional 1% of its state financial aid to be continuous and perpetual for the purpose of using the additional local option authority for student instruction?”
Advance voting for the Piper election closes at noon today at the election office, 850 State Ave., Kansas City, Kan. For more information call the election office at 913-573-8500.
For the primary election on Aug. 5, voter registration will close at the end of regular business on July 15. In-person advance voting for the primary begins July 22.
