KCK school board to hold special meeting June 14
The Kansas City, Kansas, Board of Education will meet at 5 p.m. Thursday, June 14, at the McAnany law offices at 10 E. Cambridge Circle, Suite 300, Kansas City, Kansas. The board plans to conduct regular business, and plans to meet in a closed session to interview superintendent candidates. Author to speak at Bonner historic society meeting
Adrian Zink, author of “Hidden History of Kansas,” will appear at the 7 p.m. Thursday, June 14, meeting of the Bonner Springs Historic Preservation Society at the Alden-Harrington Family Event Center, 218 Oak St., Bonner Springs, Kansas. UG Commission to meet June 14
The Unified Government Commission is expected to meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 14, at the Commission Chambers, lobby level, City Hall, 701 N. 7th St., Kansas City, Kansas. An agenda may be posted online at www.wycokck.org. A special session is at 5 p.m. with fire chief candidates.

Free concert by the City Band in Bonner Springs
A free concert will be presented from 8:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday, June 14, by the City Band at Kelly Murphy Park, 2nd and Elm streets, Bonner Springs, Kansas. Tacos and Beer fundraiser for clinic
Tonight, there will be a Tacos and Beer fundraiser to kick off the fundraising campaign for Southwest Boulevard Family Health Care clinic at 6 p.m. at the Boulevard Brewery, 2501 Southwest Blvd., Kansas City, Missouri.

T-Bones to play Sioux City, with salute to Hosmer
The T-Bones and Sioux City will play game four of their four-game series with a 7:05 p.m. start Thursday at T-Bones Stadium. Games are aired on the T-Bones Broadcast Network, http://mixlr.com/t-bones-baseball/. The Eric Hosmer Tribute Night is tonight, with activities and specials based around the former Royals player’s uniform No. 35. Select ticket prices are $3.50 and all fans 35 years old get in free with a driver’s license proof of age. Fans wearing No. 35 or the new No. 30 Padres number can come down to the field after the game to take a picture at first base, or re-enact Hosmer’s home plate slide. There also will be concessions specials at 35 cents.
