A crash on southbound I-635 near Gibbs Road at 12:40 p.m. Wednesday, March 28, resulted in injuries, according to a Kansas Highway Patrol trooper’s report.
A Nissan Altima that was southbound on I-635 lost control and cut across the roadway to the guardrail on the right side, according to the trooper’s report.
After impact, the Altima went into another lane and hit the rear of a Ford Explorer, the report stated. The Explorer then spun and went onto the right shoulder.
Then the Altima continued and struck a Ford F-150 pickup truck, according to the trooper’s report. The Altima then hit the Explorer again, the report stated.
The Altima came to rest on the right shoulder, facing north; the Explorer ended on the right shoulder facing northwest; and the F-150 ended on the left shoulder, facing south, the trooper’s report stated.
The driver of the Altima, a 28-year-old woman from Bonner Springs, Kansas, was injured and taken to the hospital, the report stated. A 26-year-old Mission, Kansas, woman who was a passenger in the Altima also was injured and taken to a hospital, according to the trooper’s report.
The driver of the Explorer, a 29-year-old Kansas City, Kansas, woman, was not injured, the report stated. A 28-year-old Kansas City, Missouri, man who was a passenger in the Explorer was not injured, the report stated. A 47-year-old woman who was a passenger in the Explorer was injured and taken to a hospital, according to the report.
