Three nominees were announced today for a Kansas Court of Appeals vacant position.
The nominees announced by the Court of Appeals Nominating Commission are Angela D. Coble, Salina, a judicial clerk with Judge Gwynne E. Birzer for the U.S. District Court for the District of Kansas; Jacy J. Hurst, Lawrence, a partner at Kutak Rock providing general legal counsel in healthccare regulatory compliance and employment law; and Russell J. Keller, with Forbes Group in Overland Park, who has experience in traditional and constitutional issues, antitrust and competition, securities and corporate governance, and class actions.
The vacancy was created by the appointment of Melissa Taylor Standridge to the Kansas Supreme Court.
Gov. Laura Kelly will appoint one of the nominees to the vacancy, and the appointee will be confirmed by the Kansas Senate.
