Three KCK residents among six in I-35 crash

A domino-effect crash at 7:34 a.m. Tuesday, May 5, on I-35 near Johnson Drive in Merriam involved six vehicles and three Kansas City, Kan., residents.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol trooper’s report, all the vehicles were traveling southbound on I-35 when an Infiniti struck the rear of a Ford F150, starting a domino effect.

The driver of the Infiniti, a 35-year-old Kansas City, Kan., woman, was injured and taken to a hospital, according to the report.

The driver of the Ford F150, a 32-year-old Kansas City, Kan., man, was not injured, the report said.

The driver of a third vehicle, a Toyota Corolla, was a 24-year-old man from Keller, Texas, who was not injured, according to the report.

The fourth vehicle was a Volkswagen GTI, and the driver, a 45-year-old man from Roeland Park, Kan., was not injured, the report said.

A Toyota Camry was the fifth vehicle in the accident, and its driver, a 35-year-old man from Kansas City, Mo., was not injured, according to the trooper’s report.

The sixth vehicle was a Ford Explorer, and its driver, a 34-year-old Kansas City, Kan., woman, was not injured, according to the report.
