Three juveniles found shot near 62nd and Haskell; one dead

Officers found three male juveniles who had been shot about 9:07 p.m. Aug. 6 in the 6100 block of Haskell Avenue, according to a police spokesman. The juveniles were inside a vehicle.

One juvenile was dead from an apparent gunshot wound, the Kansas City, Kansas, police spokesman stated.

The other victims were taken to a hospital. One of them was in critical condition and another had non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.

The police officers were responding to a shooting call when they discovered the victims, according to the spokesman.

The identity of the deceased victim is being withheld until there is positive identification and family notification.

The homicide is under investigation by the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division, which is encouraging anyone with information to call the TIPS hotline at 816-474-TIPS.
