Three injuries were reported in a single-vehicle crash at 3:24 a.m. Sunday, May 20, according to a Kansas Highway Patrol trooper’s crash report.
A Ford Fusion was westbound on I-70 near the I-635 exit when it drove onto the right shoulder, struck the guardrail, crossed three lanes of traffic, struck the barrier wall and came to rest on the highway, according to the trooper’s report.
The driver, a 19-year-old woman from Kansas City, Missouri, was injured and taken to a hospital, according to the report. She was wearing a safety restraint.
A 20-year-old man from Kansas City, Kansas, in the Fusion also was injured and was taken to a hospital. He was not wearing a safety restraint, according to the report.
A 22-year-old man from Kansas City, Kansas, who was a passenger in the Fusion was injured and taken to a hospital. He was not wearing a safety restraint, the report stated.
