An injury crash was reported March 19 at I-435 and I-70 in Wyandotte County, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.
A Toyota Prius was merging from eastbound I-70 about 12:58 p.m. and missed the curve, according to the trooper’s report. It went across all southbound lanes of I-435, then into the median and across all northbound lanes of I-435, the trooper’s report stated.
The vehicle then entered the ditch and came to rest in the trees, the trooper reported.
The driver of the Prius, a 44-year-old woman from Kansas City, Kan., was injured and taken to a hospital, the report stated.
A 10-year-old boy in the Prius also was injured and taken to a hospital. He was not wearing a safety restraint, according to the trooper’s report.
An 8-year-old girl in the Prius also was injured and taken to a hospital, the report stated. She was not wearing a safety restraint, according to the report.
