Temperatures in Wyandotte County will reach the mid-50s today, ahead of a cold front moving through the area, according to the National Weather Service.
The temperature was 41 degrees at 9 a.m. Monday. There is a slight chance of showers today, with patchy fog possible between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. An area roughly along I-35 will have cooler air to the east and warmer air to the west today, according to the weather service. A line of thunderstorms will be possible.
After reaching a high in the mid-50s at 3 or 4 p.m. today, temperatures will start to fall. By 7 p.m., they will be in the mid-40s, and by midnight, in the mid-30s. At 4 a.m. Tuesday, temperatures will be about 32 degrees, and at 7 a.m. Tuesday, about 31 degrees.
The rest of the week will see cooler seasonal temperatures, the weather service said.
Today, Presidents Day, there is a 20 percent chance of showers before 11 a.m., with patchy fog possible between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m., the weather service said. The high will be near 56 with a light and variable wind becoming west 5 to 9 mph in the afternoon.
Tonight, it will be mostly cloudy, with a low of 29 and a north northwest wind of 9 to 13 mph, gusting to 24 mph, according to the weather service.
Tuesday, it will be mostly sunny, with a high near 40 and a north wind of 6 to 10 mph, the weather service said.
