Temperatures rise to above freezing Wednesday morning in wake of overnight snowstorm

A winter weather advisory expired at 9 a.m. today as temperatures rose to 34 degrees at 9 a.m.


The overnight snow changed to freezing drizzle in some areas this morning, and the National Weather Service this morning advised drivers that roads might still be hazardous although the storm was ending.

The weather service said precipitation should end between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. today. Hazardous travel could continue through the morning hours, especially on secondary roads and untreated surfaces, from the existing snow and ice, according to the weather service.

Today’s forecast is cloudy, and gradually becoming mostly sunny with a high near 34, the weather service said. A west southwest wind of 6 to 13 mph will gust as high as 20 mph.

Tonight, it will be partly cloudy with a low of 23 and a southwest wind of 3 to 7 mph, according to the weather service.

Thursday, it will be mostly sunny with a high near 43, the weather service said. A calm wind will become east 5 to 8 mph in the afternoon.

Thursday night, it will be partly cloudy with a low of 28, according to the weather service. An east southeast wind will be around 8 mph.

Friday, there is a 20 percent chance of rain after noon, with a high near 44, the weather service said. An east southeast wind will be around 8 mph.

Friday night, there is a 60 percent chance of rain, mainly after midnight. The low will be around 36. Between a tenth and quarter-inch of rain is possible.

Saturday, there is a 90 percent chance of rain with a high near 49, the weather service said.

Saturday night, there is a 50 percent chance of rain, mixing with snow after 11 p.m., then gradually ending, according to the weather service. The low will be around 25.

Sunday, it will be sunny, with a high near 40, the weather service said.

Sunday night, it will be partly cloudy, with a low of 20, according to the weather service.

Monday, there is a 30 percent chance of rain and snow, with a high near 37, the weather service said.

Monday night, there is a 30 percent chance of rain and snow, with a low of 24, according to the weather service.

Tuesday, there is a 30 percent chance of snow, with a high near 32, the weather service said.
