A homicide victim in the 1400 block of Kansas Avenue has been identified, according to a Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department spokesman.
The victim of the July 19 shooting was Armando Villa-Rosales, 16, Kansas City, Kansas. He died from his injuries on July 20, according to police.
Officers on a call found a male inside a vehicle with an apparent gunshot wound shortly after 7:30 p.m. July 19, according to the spokesman. He was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.
A passenger in the victim’s vehicle was not injured, police stated. They believe the victim’s vehicle was westbound on Kansas Avenue when it was struck by gunfire from a vehicle that was traveling eastbound. The suspect’s vehicle fled, according to police.
The Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division is investigating the case as a homicide. Anyone with information is asked to call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS, police stated.
