Skies will be cloudy today, then becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 77, according to the National Weather Service forecast.

Dry weather will continue for the next several days, with no appreciable chances for rain, the weather service said.

The Skycast from the Mid-America Regional Council Air Quality program is good (green) for Sept. 23.

A warming trend is expected through the upcoming weekend, with temperatures solidly in the 80s, according to the weather service. Friday could see temperatures in the high 80s.

After that will be a cool-down to below normal temperatures next week, the weather service said. A cold front will move through the region late Saturday into early Sunday, according to the weather service.

It will bring slightly cooler temperatures and drier air, which will feel more comfortable, the weather service said. A stronger push of cooler and drier air is in the forecast for Tuesday and Wednesday next week, according to the weather service.

Mild weather continues today, on the first day of autumn.

Skies were still a bit hazy in Wyandotte County on Tuesday morning, with a temperature of 63 at 9 a.m., according to the National Weather Service.

The area will probably experience similar mild weather on Wednesday and Thursday, the weather service said. Smoke from western wildfires remained in the upper atmosphere here on Tuesday.

Rain is not in the Wyandotte County forecast, the weather service said, although storms are currently moving through southern Kansas and southern Missouri.

The next chance for rain in Wyandotte County is Saturday night, with 30 percent, according to the weather service.

Today, it will be partly sunny, with a high near 80 and a south southwest wind of 3 to 6 mph, the weather service said.

Tonight, it will be mostly cloudy, with a low of 62 and a south wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening, according to the weather service.

Mild temperatures in the 80s with hazy skies are in today’s forecast from the National Weather Service.

Elevated smoke from wildfires out west will remain across the region, causing some hazier conditions and possible minor effects to air quality, the weather service said.

Temperatures will be in the high 70s and low 80s for the next week, according to the forecast.

There is no rain in the forecast until Saturday night, when there is a 30 percent chance of showers, the weather service said.

Those who have asthma, allergies, lung or heart conditions are advised to stay inside in air conditioning while there is haze from the wildfires, and to reduce exertion, according to the Kansas Department of Health and Environment.
