Two Kansans won $50,000 in Powerball on Monday night.
While they didn’t take home the approximately $700 million jackpot, one ticket in northeast Kansas and one in northwest Kansas matched four numbers and the Powerball to win $50,000, according to the Kansas Lottery. The northwest Kansas ticket added on a Power Play multiplier that doubled the prize to $100,000.
The northeast Kansas area includes Wyandotte, Johnson, Leavenworth counties and several other counties.
Powerball’s winning jackpot ticket was sold in California. Powerball now returns to a $20 million jackpot.
The winning Powerball numbers on Oct. 4 were 12-22-54-66-69 Powerball 15 and PowerPlay 2X.
In Saturday night’s drawing, two Kansans also matched four numbers and the Powerball to win $50,000. There have been seven $50,000 winners in Kansas in the past month.
The Kansas Lottery is currently taking appointments to 785-296-5700 for in-person prize claims of $600 or more.
